MISSION
STATEMENT
According
to Government security policy, the RIF has six principle missions as
follows
- Rapid
Intervention
- to intervene as instructed to counter terrorist threats
and actions throughout
the territory of Macedonia.
- Public
Order
to be able to maintain public order during civil
demonstrations and similar events.
- Civil
defence
to act in support of rescue, medical and humanitarian
organizations in time of crisis (floods, earthquakes, refugee/IDP
situations)
- Security
tasks
to guard key Government installations and VIPs if required
and as the threat dictates, in support of existing close
protection units.
- Support
tasks
to give support to other Ministry of Interior organisations
as directed.
Instruction
and training
to maintain a group of specialised instructors capable of
training Police officers in tactical skills.
